Great Decisions Discussion Series: Refugees and Global Migration
It’s time to start clipping articles and being more aware of relevant international issues. You can broaden your perspective and develop your own opinions by joining one of the Great Decisions discussion groups. When registering for the Great Decisions Discussion Series please register for each individual session.
This session is focused on Refugees and Global Migration:
Today, there are no countries with open borders. Every state has its own laws and policies about who is permitted to cross its borders, and how. Who determines whether someone is a refugee or a migrant? How have different countries, including the United States, reacted to migration? How effective are the international laws, policies and organizations that have evolved to assist and protect refugees and migrants?
A briefing book published by the non-partisan Foreign Policy Association, providing a short informative article on each topic, will be available on loan from the library or for purchase from Joan Fragen firstname.lastname@example.org 847-446-0184 or Eleanor Prince email@example.com.
